Oregon Coast Trip: Day 6

The crabbing boat made it's departure Saturday morning which is why we crammed the rest of the things we wanted to do into Saturday :)
After pictures by the Ocean we went to breakfast in Tillamook and then to the Tillamook Cheese Factory.  When we were there 3 years ago we went on Black Friday and none of the lines were running.  This time we got to see the cheese on the conveyor belts being made and packaged.
Callie really enjoyed herself

This was actually taken after we left the air museum but I love it.
The next 3 pictures are out of order.  They are from later when we got back to the hotel

Probably my favorite picture of Cade from the whole trip.   You can't even tell her has a broken arm
 Back to the Cheese Factory...

After we took the tour and had some ice cream we all split up.  Some people went back to the hotel, some people stopped at Fred Meyer and my Dad, Wayner, Cody, Cade and I went to the Air Museum.  We tried to go last time but it was closed the day we tried to go.

Cody thought it was awesome and wanted to sit in every exhibit he could.  Cade walked around saying, "Whoa, look at that ur-plane!"

trying to show how big the air crane is

LOVE this picture!

Oregon Coast: Day 6 Family Pictures at the Beach

Saturday was our last full day at The Coast and we hadn't taken any group pictures at the Ocean so we took some before we headed out for the days activities.  I knew we wouldn't have time the next morning while we were trying to get loaded up (which turned out to be a rainy morning too)

Oregon Coast Trip: Day 5

Friday was a busy day.  After breakfast we all got ready and then drove to Seaside, OR with the intention of taking the kids to the movie Frozen and checking out the aquarium they have.  The aquarium was fun, but small and the movie was sold out so we ended up doing a little shopping at the outlet mall they had there and then grabbing dinner at a fun Chuck E Cheese type place.

Oregon Coast Trip: Day 4 Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day was super low key, which was perfect.  The boys were out on the crabbing boat early so we had a late breakfast of peanut butter sandwiches and anything else hanging around and let the kids play in the hotel room.

After the boys got back we left for lunch around 1pm and headed to Netarts Bay to a restaurant that does a big Thanksgiving Dinner.  They had these huge tables outside and since it wasn't too cold we were able to sit out there all together.

After we ate we drove down the road just a little way to where my Dad likes to go clamming.  He was so excited to get to take Cody.  After taking a family picture with the stunning background, Cody and I started our trek out into the mud.  When we were at the farthest point we were about a half mile from where we started.
The first 30 minutes or so were not very productive.  We got stuck in the mud a lot and Cody even fell over once because his feet were stuck.  We found a few crabs, some huge oyster shells and some dead clams but as we started to head back my Uncle yelled for us to come out to them because they had found the "jackpot"

It was true.  In the end we left with over 100 clams.  Cody had a blast digging for them and then picking up everyone's piles of clams and putting them in the bucket.

The view was incredible too.  I got some amazing sunset shots.

this one shows where we started from in the top right corner.

Cade and Callie watched a movie in the car while they waited for us and then this happened :)
When we got back to the hotel Cody wanted to cook his huge double oyster that he found and look for a pearl, so my dad helped him.   It was November 27th at the Oregon Coast and Cody is wearing swim shorts and a tshirt outside! That is how great our weather was.

They didn't find any pearls and my Dad broke the oyster shell when he was trying to open it but Cody still thought it was super cool.
