We miss you Daddy

Look in the hole....

Double Take

I have never been around twin BABIES... these little girls are only 7 hours old in the picture. Their mom carried then 8 1/2 months!! Holy cow! and they both weighed over 6 lbs! That is how big Cody was!!! They are precious little girls though. Cody thought it was SO cool that there were TWO babies. but not cool enough to take his away from the fruit plate the nurse brought him.
This was the only picture I could get him to take with one of the babies. He is not very good at posing for the camera. well he'll pose just not smile. He has always been such a serious kid! (notice the mouth full of watermelon... he refused to put the food down)

Lunch Bunch

I had never heard of lunch bunch until I met my husband and his brother Mike. But its where the same group of kids go to one of their houses everyday for lunch. Obviously it can only happen at schools with an open campus, and that wasn't my school. Cody however, has already started his own lunch bunch... with our neighbor. After school somedays Cody goes over to have an after school snack with Lane...this day it was ramen noodles and chicken. :)

Enjoying the fruits of our labors.

well grandma and grandpas labors anyway :)
Cody loves picking stuff out of their little garden out back. They have pumpkins growing for Halloween

*I realized I had taken a bunch of picture and not uploaded any so you get 3 posts in one day*

One day at a time!

Saturday we had Chris's buddy's kids over while they went fishing. I love watching Cody interact with kids older than him. He is such a bossy little turd!

The were good teachers though :)

Hanging out with Colton

Last Friday Cody got to spend the whole day with his buddy Colton... between the two of them they ate that WHOLE bag of donuts.

They played GREAT together all day. They both enjoyed chasing the kittys.

And watching Nemo... neither of these positions looks comfortable to me AT ALL!

I'm officially an official.

Confused?

Let me explain.

I am going to be officiating high school volleyball this year!!! I am so excited because I have been coaching for the last two years and since I am not coaching this seemed like a great way to still be able to watch :)

Caldwell Night Rodeo.

My Cowboy

Enjoying the fabulous rodeo food. Cotton Candy and Corn on the Cob.

This is the only good action shot I got... this cowboy was VERY easy on the eyes! Notice the pink shirts... the theme was "Tough enough to wear Pink" for breast cancer awareness.

Maybe secretly I do want a little girl....

someday.

In my defense, he did ask me to do it for him.

6 years ago today...

It has been 4 years exactly since I have visited my brothers grave. I still have a Really hard time going back to the Cemetery, just because I have other ways of remembering my Bro.
If you have done the math, this means that it is the 1st time I have taken my Cody out to visit his Uncle Cody. He has gone with my mom before but I haven't been able to do it. My Cody had no idea what was going on other than the fact that my sister Stacy had given him ICE CREAM!

I couldn't stay more than about 5 minutes, but at least I have pictures. I miss him so much, it hurts. Still. But I am so grateful for the 17 years I had him as my Best Friend and the example he still is to me. I love that I have a DAILY reminder of him, so I will never forget him. So many things about my little Cody remind me of his Uncle Cody, and I love every one of them.
Unfortunately, we visited him during nap time. Cody was exhausted by the time we got home.

the inevitable end.

I am having a hard time getting started...

I dont want anything to change from how the 3rd book ended.

And, I don't have time right now to drop everything and read start to finish in a day.
My goal is to only read when Cody is sleeping.
When I started the book yesterday, Cody came over and said "Close it, Mom. Put it down." What am I supposed to do? Ignore him?

Roaring Springs!

My cousins came up for a week from Utah to visit, every year they go to the local water park for a day and this year Cody got to go.He was so excited, he could hardly stand it.
With his cousins, Bria and Lydia

Cody loves my cousin bridger... he would go anywhere with him.

1 sick little boy + 1 can of pepsi + 1 tsp ibuprofen = one REALLY LONG WEEKEND!

Cody woke up from nap Saturday with a fever... this explained the extremely clingy and grumpy boy we had been dealing with for 24 hours before this. He was still acting normal other than the clingyness. He drank some chocolate milk with ibuprofen mixed in, and cooled down within a few minutes. I had to work at 5 and Chris went fishing, so Cody went bowling with some cousins and when I got off at 9 my mom said he was pretty hot again. So, we came home and I waited til he was asleep and slid some more ibuprofen into his mouth. He was still hot all night, and was sleep talking the whole time. At 3, Chris came into the room, he had been sleeping on the couch, because he heard Cody asking me if I was ok.... still sleep talking. Cody was burning up so we brought him out on the couch and tried to get him to take more medicine. He refused, so being good parents, we did the only thing we could think would work... we put the medicine in some pepsi and he downed it. Mission accomplised. He woke up fine, and by the end of church on Sunday he was warm again, so before his nap he had more medicine in Grape Soda this time. And more again before we headed to Steve and Lori's (chris's mom and dad). He was getting hot again as we left their house at 8:30 so we hurried home to get him more medicine but he refused, so again I waited til he was asleep and basically forced it into his mouth. He didn't cool down, so at 2:30 I started getting worried. We gave him more medicine in Grape Soda and made his sit up until it was gone. He woke up at 8 a.m. a happy camper.

That was the hardest 48 hours we've ever had with him. He has never been sick, or had a fever that required more than 1 dose of medicine. I was just glad that he wasn't throwing up or having the shivers.

He is napping right now, he started to get warm around noon so I gave him a little more medicine.

** One funny thing from him being sick: he woke up in the middle of the night and said "oh darnit, holy cow" and rolled back over and went to sleep. Chris and I got a good laugh out of it.

No, Cody do it.

ahh! I cant believe my son is big enough to drink out of a water fountain... ON HIS OWN! It was hilarious but gross to watch him trying to get a drink because he couldn't reach past the part where the water came out. but he insisted he do it by himself.

Future Vegetarians of America (FVA)

Ok, I made that up... well I think. It might actually exist. Anyway, I bought Cody a corn dog the other day and he threw the entire hot dog out the window after he ate all the breading off of it. He has never liked meat unless it is chicken nuggets or if I hide it in some sort of stoganoff! I think he gets it from his mom. :) I can't say that I could ever be a vegetarian though because one of my absolute favorite things to eat at restaurants is Prime Rib, but I dont eat much meat other than that. I could eat pasta, rice and bread til I exploded though.

Fun at the Fair

I realize he doesn't look like he was having a good time in the pictures, but he really did have a blast. My mom took Cody to the fair while I was at work one night. The whole next day he kept asking if he could "go rides"
