My Caders

This smile melts me every time. He has turned into such a fun little boy. Cody loves to get him laughing at any cost. He smiles like the picture below pretty easily but it takes a lot to make him laugh.

We have ventured into more foods with Cade. From 3-7 months he only ate the pureed veggies I made, rice cereal and occasionally he would get some applesauce. Now, he gets smashed pears, strawberries, bananas and some finger foods. He prefers to have some one else feed him, he doesn't like having to feed himself. I have also stopped nursing. I got a good solid 6 months in and then starting supplementing with formula and officially stopped just shy of 7 months. I am proud of myself. I honestly don't know how some women go a whole year. I just didn't have enough to satisfy him. He didn't gain very much weight from 5 months to 6 months, like only 4 oz. so I started to stress about not getting him enough food. From month 6 to month 7 he gained 1 lb. but I had started supplementing with formula. He seems to be sleeping better now during the day and sometimes at night so I am happy with my decision. I really enjoyed nursing this time around and I didn't want to ruin it.

He still loves to be swaddled. I may be swaddling him until high school. He actually breaks out of the swaddle once he is asleep and has finally started staying asleep when he breaks out. Now he needs to learn to go to sleep without the darn binky! I get up no less than 3 times a night to put his binky back in his mouth. Very Frustrating! But we love him SO much.

My Boys

Before church last week... I dressed Cody and then came into our room where Chris was getting dressed and they had the exact same color shirt on (light pink).

At Costco. The boys first time sharing a grocery cart. Cody was very protective, making sure Cade didn't tip over.

Helping feed Cade before church on Sunday.

When I told Cody it was time to get dressed for church he wasn't very excited, until I pulled out a shirt that matched Cade's. He loves his little brother so much!

Stacy's having a girl!

Last Friday Stacy had her ultrasound to find out if she is having a boy or a girl. My parents were both in town to go with her. Obviously by the title she is having a girl. She is super excited, but I think my Mom is even more excited to get to buy girl stuff this time around.

Adventures in Fondant and Cake Pops

My friend Melanie was making a birthday cake for her niece a few weeks ago and asked me for some assistance. I ruined one cake while trying to get it out of the pan so we make cake pops instead with that one. They were great!! The cake was a challenge because neither of us had used fondant before. I think it turned out really cute for a first time attempt.

Play time

Cody loves getting to play with Cade. Fortunately Cade is big enough that Cody can't really hurt him.

This picture is from another day. We had Ashton and his cousins, Maddie and Shelby over. They all crashed downstairs watching a movie.

"Girls Day"

It didn't really start out as a girls day but turned into one. Stacy was having a "good day" and offered to do my hair. Its been since the end of March. :) I was hesitant because I knew she wouldn't have much stamina since she hasn't been able to get out of bed for 3 months. She got through half of my hair and excused herself to throw up... 3/4 of the way through she was too tired. I started panicking because not all of my hair was in foils yet. Melissa sent me a text and asked if we were home and I begged her to come help Stacy finish. I lucked out.

My friend Eric

I have a few pictures I have emailed to myself from my phone but didn't post:

This first one is of my friend Eric from high school and Caders. Eric is the sweetest boy I have ever known. He has been my friend since like 1st grade. I remember him pinning me against the wall outside our school in 1st grade and laying a big fat kiss on me.

This was on the way back from swimming. He was EXHAUSTED!
Cade and I left church early a few weeks ago because he was so tired but wouldn't go to sleep. This is how he was when we got home.
And these were from the other night. He is such a wiggle worm at night.

Bath Time

I had a brilliant idea to put Cade in his bumbo seat while in the bath tub so he could play more with Cody. Turns out it wasn't such a brilliant idea. He kept leaning forward to splash and almost tipped over every time.

The little boy on the left is Ashton. He is our neighbor. He and Cody had been playing outside for a long time so I just threw them all in the bath together.

And... this one goes without explanation I think.

Picture Time with Cade

While Cody was gone this morning, I took some fun pictures of Cade. I am not very good and getting posed pictures of the boys so this was my best attempt. I love the second one.

This one makes me laugh every time I look at it.
I think he looks like he is drunk :)

I am had to post a couple of these. I went through and found one of Cody's old BSU onesies for the game today. GO BRONCOS!

Family Time

Steve and Lori were in town this weekend. It had been a long time since they'd seen Scarlett so that was definitely first on the "to do" list. Cody loves reading stories before bedtime. It cracked me up how intensely he was paying attention.
Cade eating watermelon. He loved the stuff.

Cody and Cade: more church pictures

Cody has been really interested in dressing the same as Cade lately. They don't have one single matching outfit, but I was able to put these together Sunday. Matching ties from my friend Erin, white collared shirts and tan slacks.

Cody: second first day of preschool

Cody started preschool on Thursday last week. He was SO excited! I told him in this first picture to show me how excited he was.

Cade was really excited for Cody to start preschool too. We celebrated by taking a very quiet peaceful nap :)
