Funny things he says version 2.0

12-01-10 Cade and I went in to wake Cody up from his nap today and he rolled over and said, "Oh!! Sorry Mom, I went to the wrong group. I was supposed to go over there, but I went to this one. I wanted to go to the other group but I didn't tell my teacher." I LOVE getting little glimpses into his dream world.

11-30-10 After Cade's 9 month check-up, I realized I hadn't fed Cody lunch before I drop him off at school. We were driving past a Wendy's so I asked if he wanted a hamburger. He said no, that he ate at Ashtons house. He said, " Are you going to get something?" I said, " I might get a drink." He said, "If you want a Dr. Pepper, just say that." I laughed and said, "I want a Dr Pepper." He said, "Okay, you can have one then."

December-
Driving in the car one day Cody said, "Mom, my favorite kind of car is the kind that don't have a top, they just have glass and no top." I said, "a convertible?" He said, "Yes! That's my favorite! Can we get one of those?" I explained that we don't need another car and that it would be really cold to drive around in a car without a top on it. He said. "When daddy wrecks his car then we can get a new one. right?" I was kind of surprised but I said, "Daddy isn't going to wreck his car buddy." Cody thought about it a second and then said, " but its okay Mom, he will wreck his car and go to Heaven for a second and then come back and we can get a car with no top." This time he shocked me. I realized that he only associates wrecking cars with dying from when we tell him about how Uncle Cody died. Right after he said that Daddy could go to Heaven for a second and then come back he said, "Hey Mom, when does Uncle Cody get to come back from Heaven?" I had to explain to him that when someone goes to Heaven they don't get to come back. They stay with Heavenly Father forever. He said, "Ok well maybe Daddy can make some more money so we can buy a car with no top on it." I said, "Yeah maybe." hahaha what a hoot! He is picking up things so quickly!

Speaking of Uncle Cody, I am not sure if I have posted about this but Cody has been asking a lot lately about how Uncle Cody died. He asked me one day how Uncle Cody died and I told him that he died in a car accident. He said, "Daddy told me that he wasn't watching the road and he crashed." I said, "yes that right."
On the way home from Boise for Thanksgiving I showed Cody the spot on the freeway where Uncle Cody's accident was and now he always asks me about how and where and why Uncle Cody crashed his car.

2-7-11 On the way to the Legacy Center to go swimming I had my phone plugged into my car and had Pandora playing. It was on a country station and Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama came on. I was about to change it when Cody said, "Hey Mom!!!!! I love this song!." I said, you don't even know what song this is. He said, "Yes huh!! Its Sweet Home Halabama. Its on Despicable Me. I was shocked!!! He really knew the song! So, we sung the chorus together very loudly every time.

2-24-11 I was changing Cade's diaper this morning and since he is teething his stinky diapers are extra stinky and he has had a nice little sore on his bum, Cody walked in while Cade was exposed and said, "Cade has a bruise on his bum." I said really? He said, "Yeah, it's a... a... a.... it's one of these." I turned around and he had his shirt pulled up and was pointing to his nipple.

A week in pictures

Since Stacy had her baby, we have been on the go. For some reason all the pictures uploaded in the wrong order though. So going backwards...
Today is Cade's birthday :) He hasn't been feeling well due to teething and Chris is out of town so we didn't do much today. We started out the day with a nice little snuggle though.
I worked a lot yesterday and all morning this morning on a project. I wanted to make something using my sewing machine for the boys, so I started with collared shirts, but I took a timeout after I got too frustrated and decided to make a simple pajama shirt... it could have been better. Actually, it was just the neck line that got me. I couldn't get it over Cody's head, and then once we forced it on... we REALLY couldn't get it off. He wasn't very happy with me.
I think this is a good sign that our house is cold...
Pictures with Carli

watching a movie together.

My Mom and Dad came down last Wednesday when Stacy had Carli, my Dad went home on Saturday but my mom has been staying with Stacy all week.

This is Cade's kiss face.

Carli

Stacy had her baby!! :) We love her so much, she is so sweet. Cody is extra attached and asks to see her every day and when he does get to see her he has to be holding her. Stacy went into labor really early Wednesday morning last week but I was waiting for her to be admitted so in the meantime I fed Cody a bowl of cereal at 5 am because he woke up and was starving. He hadn't had much of an appetite for a few days.

I headed to the hospital around 6 and she was making progress quick, unfortunately there were some issues with Carli's heartbeat so the Dr.'s felt it was necessary to do a c-section. She was here shortly after and she was beautiful! I had just picked the boys up from Chris's office when they did the surgery and they wouldn't let me back in to the labor and delivery wing with my kids so we had to wait out in the hall forever. Chris came back to take the boys to lunch so I could finally go in and see them.

The boys were exhausted by the end of the day. Actually, by about 2 pm. They both crashed on the way home.
This was taken the 2nd day, since Cody and Cade weren't allowed past the locked doors the nurses let Stacy bring Carli to the door so he could see her. My dad brought Cade over to let him kiss her on the forehead real quick but he had other intentions. He smacked her head as soon as he could reach her. It was out of love though.

Black Cops

Today we were headed to Marissa's house to make chocolate dipped strawberries when we drove past Subway and we saw 6 cop cars in the Subway parking lot. Cody flipped out and begged to go see all the cops. So, we went. It took him about 15 minutes to work up the guts to ask to take a picture with them... then another 10 to ask if he could take a picture with the black cops (in black uniforms). The first set gave him a Jr. Office sticker and some temporary tattoos.

The second set... took him out to the police car. This kid was absolutely in HEAVEN!

The Officer let him turn on the siren, honk the horn, turn on the lights and talk on the loud speaker thing. After, we went to Marissa's and the first thing he did was put on his tattoo.
and then he dipped strawberries.

my beautiful niece Scarlett. She is seriously the cutest little girl. I love her big brown eyes.

Haircuts

I gave the boys haircuts over the weekend, the only problem is Cody hates them. He insisted this time he get to cut his own hair.

A different kind of Sunday

Yesterday was an interesting day. Not our average Sunday. Cody woke up still feeling crummy so we stayed home from church. We made cinnamon rolls and then Cade and Mommy went back to bed. Cody and Chris watched a movie.

At 2 we made a decision to go down to the park and get some fresh air since it was so nice outside.

We came home, and played a little.

and then Cody's fever came back and he crashed.
After Cade's nap we went in and tried to wake Cody up so he would still sleep at night, but it only worked for a minute.

Cody went back to sleep at 9 that night and slept til 9:45 this morning. He is still fighting his fever off and on. I think it might have to do with his infected tooth.
