What a cool show... I have been tivo-ing it on Sundays and I kind of like it. I like that it is not just another reality show about naked people and drama. It inspires people to do good... imagin that. Anyway one of the judges on the show is Malaak Compton-Rock, wife of comedian Chris Rock. She is so incredibly gorgeous! It makes me laugh because it is the kind of the typical BYU couple that you see everywhere. The girls always marry up, we would see some interesting looking guys with gorgeous girls. I guess I am saying Chris Rock really isn't very attractive.

Team Aniston

Ok, I have always been a fan of Jennifer Aniston, that is no secret. However, I watched a movie tonight called Picture Perfect and I am not going to lie, I was not a HUGE fan. I like the story line but it really bugged me about the whole sleeping with an unavailable woman is more "fun and exciting" than sleeping with an unattached woman. Don't get me wrong, I am sure there is more of an adrenaline rush trying not to get caught or that you are doing something wrong or whatever but it really bugged me in this movie because everything else about it was so cute.

Also, I saw this commercial a couple weeks ago while watching t.v. with my sister and I was absolutely repulsed but it! It is a burger king commercial advertising their breakfast menu... There was another commercial that I saw a couple years ago that was actually enough to stop me from eating there where there was a GIANT hamburger in the road and guys walked over and started taking bites out of it... I guess I am just not into fast food, unless it is Mexican! :)

Happy Easter!!

Well we are back and we had a BLAST! Wednesday wasn't my favorite since we had to say bye to Mikey but after that we had so much fun. We drove down Tuesday night and stayed with Chris's Aunt Jill and Uncle Paul in Alpine. It was great because we never get to see them. Wednesday we went to Kneaders for french toast and then headed to my sister-in-law Marissa's house to meet the rest of the family. We headed for the MTC around noon. We got some great pictures, however after looking at friends blogs I am realizing that my digital camera is way behind in the photography world. (even though it is NEW!)

After the MTC we had lunch with the Hennemans at California Pizza Kitchen and then headed back to get Cody a nap, have dinner, watch American Idol and call it a night.

Thursday we were going to go down to Mona where some good friends of ours live but Aunt Jill told us that Thanksgiving Point had a petting zoo so we had to go there first. We had a great time, the sun was right above us so some of the pictures didn't turn out very well. Cody loved feeding the ducks and chickens but he would put his fingers through the gate to feed them and the big white duck and and one of the regular little chickens bit his fingers... he was NOT happy!

Chris took Cody on his first pony ride, he wasn't very fond of it at first but was enjoying it after the first trip around.

After Thanksgiving Point we went to the mall and then drove down to Mona to see the Sage Family.

Chris used to work for Lance (the dad) and we became really good friends. Lance and Aurelie have 4 kids, Landon 13, Sabrina 11, Brennan 7 and McKade 6. These kids are hilarious. Cody loved them. He absolutely went crazy as soon as we got there. He called Sabrina and Brennan both "Brina" and McKade was "Cake". We were there Thursday night Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. I took too many pictures. There was an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning that we took the kids to, Cody had no idea what was going on, as soon as they blew the horn he went the to the 1st tootsie roll he saw and started unwrapping. By the time he figured out that you put it in the basket and keep going, the candy was pretty much gone. He got a good hand full of tootsie rolls though.

Sunday morning we had breakfast and then we all found our Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny brought!!! and then the kids found the eggs he hid.

What a fun Sunday we had. Chris had family in town from Nevada and his brother Mike is leaving tomorrow to go to Utah and Wednesday we take him to the MTC so we were at my in-laws all afternoon playing hard! Pappa is a sucker for the bubbles... and Cody knows it so that is the first thing he goes for whenever we go over there.

Grandma Lori makes an amazing hoho cake and Cody inhaled it! He refused to let anyone else hold the fork when he is eating.

We are going to miss you Uncle Mikey, I mean Elder Henneman but we are SO proud of you!

That being said, we are leaving Tuesday and wont be back until Sunday afternoon. We are going to make a nice long trip out of dropping Mikey off at the MTC. Cant wait to see some old friends!

Not another hair cut....

We gave Cody his first hair cut when he was 3 months old, it seemed premature to a lot of people because he just didn't have any hair. The problem was the mullet. Since then we have to cut his hair every 6 weeks or so. It grows so fast and he has very thick hair. My sister Stacy cut his hair a couple times recently but swore she would never do it again because everytime he saw her after that he would cry and run away from her so Chris has to do it now. Even when Chris does it Cody throws a fit. As soon as he sees the clippers he says "No Dad, No!" We kept him occupied by letting him play with his remote control hummer. It worked and he looks so handsome!

WHY???!

After my post about the 60 degree weather.... IT"S HAILING right now! I can't handle this anymore. Now I understand why people like living in Texas... it never made sense before! This kind of weather can easily cause depression!!

When the H2's first came out I really wanted one, ok I still want one but that is irrelavent. When I bought Cody's stroller Chris called the the H2 of baby stollers because it had rubber wheels and shocks and the works... I still haven't lived that one down. For Christmas this year Cody got a remote control Hummer from Santa and was so scared of it at first but now he wont let it out of his sight. Because the weather is so nice, the neighbor kids have been outside on their trampoline playing basketball and Cody just sits and watches them everyday. So when Chris got home from work tonight Cody was ready to play!!! They are so cute and Chris is so patient and doesn't complain that he doesn't get to drive the car :) He has accepted his role as the guy who gets to move the car when it gets stuck. What a good Daddy.

We have officially hit the 60's!!!! Bring on the sun!!!

I was working on stuff in the kitchen the other day and Cody came out of my bedroom looking like this....

My first instinct was to be upset but I figured I should find out exactly what it was before I got upset (I always keep my bedroom AND bathroom doors shut because he can get ANYTHING open, even a bottle of dark pink fingernail polish that I hadn't been able to open in a year!) Fortunately for me this time it was just my Estee Lauder smell good shimmer powder. He would shake it up over his head like it was raining. Gotta love 'em.

Also, he never went throught the NO phase a lot of kids go to, but now we have the hit the screaming and STOP!!! phase... any one know what to do with that? Nothing is working.

Way too much fun!!

When Kristen and I were planning out trip to Vegas we had a list of things to accomplish while we were there. However, we also knew that with our budget we may not be able to do EVERYTHING... 1. meet a celebrity 2. eat sushi (for the 1st time) 3. go to Phantom 4. get some great deals on some great shoes 5. go to Coyote Ugly and dance on the bar. So this may turn into a very long post so if you don't want to hear about every detail, now is the time to stop reading. (I am pretty sure you can click on any of the pictures to see them bigger)


Wednesday we flew out of Boise on separate flights because we booked them at different times. I left at 4 and she left at 6. I had a stop in SLC for an hour so we arrived in Vegas within 10 minutes of eachother. However the stop in SLC turned out to be perfect because I ran into Chip and Chan and their two girls. How ironic, I know! My Aunt picked us up from the airport and took us to her house in Henderson, Nv for dinner and then we went out with a guy that one of Kristens friends had hooked us up with before we went down there. We just walked around on the strip, went to the top of the Eiffel Tower and watched the Bellagio water show from there. So cool! We were home by midnight just because he was a police officer and had to be up by 4:30 the next morning.

The best part about that night though was my little cousin Jared, he is 6 and I wasns't smart enough to take any pictures but he showed us how he could break dance.... remember he is 6!

Thursday morning we got up and got ready to go sign in for the coaches clinic at the Riviera Hotel. Kristen asked my Aunt Leslie if there was a Nordstrom Rack in Henderson, and because luck was on our side the whole weekend, there was one!! So we accomplished Goal #4 already and we were a little bit late to registration! We met two other coaches at the hotel that flew in that morning. Debbie, the varsity assistant and Lauren who will be coaching out high school club team. We had a guest speaker at noon but we had no idea who it would be until we got there. Goal #1... WE MET A CELEBRITY. ok now maybe not a celebrity but he is definitely famous and it wasn't just one of those "we saw him on the other side of the room things" we had a conversation with him and got to take pictures with him. MArk Eaton, former Utah Jazz basketball player coming in at a whopping 7 feet 4 inches. This was a huge deal for Kristen because she is 6 feet 4 inches and grew up in Utah and people used to ask her all the time if she was Mark Eaton's daughter... pretty stinkin' cool! When we were taking the picture I put my arm around him and it was sitting on top of his rear end! It caught me off guard and my face turned red but I guarantee he is used to it! I look so small compared to these two!

Thursday night after all of our classes were over we went to dinner at a little cafe just down the road and then over to Circus Circus just to walk around. We found this hilarious game where you roll a ball into small holes and your camel moves... we had to play and I won a cute elephant for Cody.


Friday we went to classes from 9-5, and then headed down to the Venetian to watch Phantom of the Opera. SO AMAZING! As we were leaving the hotel though we couldn't resist taking this picture, the funny part was that the gentleman that we asked to take the photo said " What would your mothers say about this?" in a very disapproving voice and without hesitation I said "I am a mother!" He was not impressed with us at all!

We proceeded to walk down to the Venetian because the show didn't start til 7, it didn't look that far on the map we had! 30 minutes later we were there! We both had on heels so we turned in our tickets and had a seat... :) We sat up on the mezzanine so we got to see everything! This picture was taken on Kristen's phone in our seats. We were so excited!

After the show we met up with the other two coaches for dinner at a place in the Venetian. This is my favorite picture from the entire trip because it just sums up how much fun we had.

After dinner we decided to head to New York hotel to try to get into Coyote Ugly... there was a really long line to get in, but some creepy guy gave us VIP tickets on the street earlier that night so we got right in for only $5. It wasn't as great as I anticipated but we still had a blast. This is the 3 of us that went.

And this is the only picture we got of us on the bar... I handed my camera to some guys to take pictures and when we came down there were 10 pictures of them and 3 of us! Go figure!



So overall we had a great February 29th. How many people can say they saw Phantom on Feb. 29th in Vegas! not that many.

Needless to say Saturday was a lot more mellow. We missed our first class in the morning, went to the next and then decided that we didn't want to me inside during the 75 degree weather anymore. So we headed to the Premium Outlet Mall to do a little shopping. It is an outdoor outlet mall so it was perfect. We had lunch at the food court and then went back for the only two sessions we were interested in attending that day. We had checked out of our hotel at 11 that morning so all of our bags were hanging out in a storage room in the basement of the hotel. While we tried to decide what to do that night we went to Circus Circus again and got some cotton candy and walked around their big amusement park that we missed the first time.

The other two coaches left that night so we decided we were going to go down to the Bellagio again and get something to eat there. We went down to catch a cab and I told Kristen to see if any one else was headed there so we could share a cab... she didn't so when I got there I just the only people left in front of us where they were going and they said Treasure Island so we jumped in and figured that would get us halfway and we could walk the rest. They were true gentleman(in Vegas... yeah right) and paid for the cab. We got out and decided to walk around Treasure Island since we hadn't been there yet. We found a cute little sushi restaurant and decided now was the time to try it... we got a table out on their deck where we would be able to see the pirates show. A couple minutes later 4 guys sat at the table next to us... we had no idea what lay ahead. They were drunk even before they got to dinner and then ordered at least 2 more BIG beers a piece with their food. Our waiter picked out our food because neither of us had tried sushi before and I still don't know what we had but it was pretty good. Tempured shrimp and veggies and to different kinds of rolls, I think spicy tuna and one that had eel in it... I was not a fan of the eel. The boys sitting next to us had Idaho jokes coming out their ears, and not just potato ones. My favorites were, when they asked us where we were from and we said Idaho, without hesitation one of the said "oh... so you're the two" took us a second but it was hilarious, and the best one was right after that he said, " I don't even know what street Idaho is on" maybe you have heard those but I hadn't and we couldn't stop laughing the whole meal. The best part was that they paid for ours and didn't even expect us to hang out with them after. they walked us out of the restaurant and went on their way.

Because we got a free cab ride and a free sushi dinner we had to treat ourselves to ice cream.

Our atheletic director didn't book us a room for Saturday night so we went back to Henderson at my Aunt and Uncles, but the person we were originally supposed to hang out with ditched us we had to catch a cab... $40 to henderson. Or a limo for $45... so

As you can see, we had as much fun as two mormon girls can have in Las Vegas!!! We aren't sure if we want to go back next year because I just don't think we could top this trip!

We really didn't want to come home and I don't think I would have if I hadn't missed my boys so much.
