Suspiciously Cute

I got this note from one the 3rd graders I was teaching yesterday. Keep in mind that it was like 10 a.m. when she gave this to me, so we had known each other for a total of 2 hours. She was driving me CRAZY the rest of the day. She was trying to be nice, but I had 25 8 yr old kids to watch and she just kept getting in my way. Every time I turned around she was there.

A funny story about being called Mrs. H. It started with 3rd graders who couldn't figure out how to say my last name, so I told them they could just call me Mrs. H. So, I figured that would be the best thing the kindergarten classes I had to call me as well. Instead of Mrs. H however, I got Mrs. F, Mrs. J, and Mrs. L! I laughed so hard that day. I didn't think about Kindergarteners not being able to remember which letter it was. I had it written on the board but that is one of the things kindergarten kids are learning, letter recognition. Too funny.

In less than two weeks, I am going to be the line judge for a College of Idaho volleyball game!!! I know this sounds dumb to those who don't care about volleyball, but I LOVE the game, and to be a line judge for a collegiate game is so EXCITING for me!

This is the gym I will be in

One day you will see me here....

Season 7

Dont read this if you are easily offended. It is my opinion after all.

First of all, my husbands face was PRICELESS when he realized that Dancing with the Stars is on again. I believe his reaction was something like this, "ohhh maaannn, already!!!???"

I am really tired of Cheryl Burke.. every season she seems to get more and more trashy looking. Maybe its the pictures I have seen in the tabloids. And I could not watch Lance Bass and take him seriously... I can't say that I will ever be ok with homosexuality. Now don't get me wrong, I know people and have friends that are gay, but it doesn't mean its ok and I am not going to put that influence around my family. I just kept getting a bad mental image when I watched him. Maybe it was the eyeliner he was wearing.

Total Weeny

I have been substitute teaching for about a month now, but mainly elementary school classes. Today I was in the high school, I enjoy it because it is less hands on than elementary and I know some of the kids from coaching for the last two years... today was not my favorite day! Everything was going well until a girl(now a Senior) walked in that when I looked at her I thought I was going to throw up. She played for me her sophomore year and things didn't go the way she or her dad would have liked them too. He let me know... twice!!!! He had a meeting with me, the athletic director, the varisty coach and he and his daughter. To give you an idea... he looks ALOT like this, minus the nail in the head. I am completely serious... I was shaking through the entire meeting, but didn't cry like I tend to do during confrontations. I stood my ground and didn't let him push me around, but for some reason, my stomach knots and I want to throw up every time I see him or his daughter and 2 years later it was no different! (I am shaking just thinking about it again)

Lets hope 2nd graders will be easier tomorrow.

Reflections

This was my old high school in February of 2007... I graduated in 2003. As I sat and watched my school burning down that morning I couldn't help but feel kind of guilty!!! How many days had I gone to school PRAYING that that stupid building would "burn down today"!!!! And then they couldn't stop the fire... and my school was gone. I went and saw the destroyed school, and then have driven by the new one, but yesterday was my first time inside the new school. It was so GROSS! Dont get me wrong, it is REALLY NICE, but it just isn't Middleton High School anymore. I was so sad. I was there to ref a volleyball game for the middle school and even though I saw all my old PE teachers and coaches... it just wasn't even close to the same.

This is the best picture I could find of the new school. Kind of the same look on the outside but the inside is ALL different!

WHAT IS GOING ON?!!!

Every one I know is PREGNANT!!! ok well 7 of my friends are anyway! and that is a lot to someone who only has like 10 friends!!!! The first few were just kind of funny, and then in the last 24 hours I found out about 3 more friends.... so I started to get nervous... maybe I am pregnant... maybe there is something in the water... maybe God feels like there aren't enough people on the earth already and it wouldn't matter if I did anything to get pregnant.... so I came home and took a pregnancy test... good news is... I am not pregnant. phew! But good luck to all of you that are!!!!
I cant believe this is just one summer apart. well 18 months I guess. He is growing up so fast!

ME? famous?... NO....

SO, 2 weeks ago I climbed in my car to go officiate a volleyball game and as I turned the car on I hear a recording of Sara Evans (the country singer) saying, "CALL NOW AND BE CALLER #15 TO COME SEE ME AT THE IDAHO CENTER!" First of all... I didn't know she was going to be here! and Second I never win on the radio. So because I had 92.3's number programmed on my phone (no excuses :) ) I called in. The first time is was busy and the 2nd time it was ringing!!! The DJ answered by saying, "WHAT ARE YA CALLIN ME FOR?", I was stunned because I wasn't completely sure... so I said "TICKETS?" he said, "WELL YOU"VE GOT 'EM!" AHHHH I was so excited! It was the radio stations listener appreciation concert so you can't buy tickets to it, you HAVE to win them, and I WAS GOING!

The opening acts were both people I hadn't heard of, One Flew South and James Otto. When I looked them up I realized I knew a couple of their songs just didn't know who sang them. So it was still pretty cool. We were laughing after One Flew South was done because the lead singer came out to talk to his parents who were sitting in audience and no one noticed him.... except us so we went over for a picture... :) classy I know. He looks better 100 ft away.I went with my cousin Trisha, and friends Alexis and Kelly. We had a GREAT time people watching. I told Chris that my confidence/self esteem on a scale of 1-10 is at about a 17 right now :) This little boy was sitting right in front of us with his dad and two sisters and he was starring at me the WHOLE! time. I thought maybe my zipper was down or I had something hanging out of my nose or something but apparently he just liked me but he crashed half way through... we were on the 14th row and he was ASLEEP! I can't vacuum my house without Cody waking up and this kid slept through a concert! This was the only okay picture I got. She was amazing. Such a fun concert.

Ponkins anyone?

My mom and dad are growing pumpkins in their back yard this year and even though it is only the middle of September we are already practicing for the perfect pumpkin. Cody decorated his all by himself... he dumped the glitter glue all over it so we turned it into a red headed pumpkin and wrote his name on it. Our art supplies were limited so I used fabic paint on mine which eventually was all peeled off.

Boxers or Briefs?

Prince

Playing with our neighbors dog Prince... one of Cody's best friends. too cute.

Storytime/Craft time.

Our local library has story time every Wednesday and Thursday, so since Cody doesn't have any little kids that live really close and he doesn't go to day care I figured it was a good way to get him around more kids his age. Today's was a special craft/story time. They read a story and then made little bird feeders out of pinecones, peanut butter and bird seed.... I volunteered for the next craft day... :) I know what you are thinking... how did you come up with that?! We are pretty creative huh... diaper hats.
