Cody and Cade's silly moments

I wish I was better at recording the kids funny quotes because there are at least one a day from one of them that is worth writing down but I want to record some of the funny things Cade says and Cody does now before I completely forget.

***We put him in his big boy bed a couple months ago and it has worked out pretty well.  He still calls it his "new bed" every time he refers to it and is so excited to get to sleep in it.  Mostly because it is part of Cody's bed and that is so cool to him.  However, he quickly picked up on some of Cody's excuses for not going to bed.  It started one night with,  "I will have bad dreams" and then morphed into one big long excuse as soon as we tell him its time for bed, "I'm thirsty, I need breakfast, I will have bad dreams!"  and then after they are in bed and we read them a story you can count on Cade every night to pop up as soon as the story is over and say, "OH! We need say our prayers!"

***His prayers are just as adorable.  He says the same prayer every time but its a good one.  "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this day. Bless the food.  Bless we will be nice and good.  Bless Mommy feel better, we wont have bad dreams and sleep well.  Name Jesus Christ Amen.

***Cody bought Cade his first Train a couple months ago also.  That Thomas the Train has already been through multiple batteries.  Cade is obsessed.  One day while he was playing he brought the instruction paper to me that had pictures of all the different trains on it and pointed to the Gordon train and said, "Will you buy me Gordon?"  I couldn't believe he knew any of the other train's names but he has been watching the cartoon a little too.

***Cade goes to his own little preschool twice a week.  It is just a short 1 hour class and it is right here in our subdivision and Cade LOVES it.  His friend Robby goes to the same school so he has a ton of fun.  Last week when I picked them both up Cade rolled his window down and yelled, "Bye Ms Kwisten!!"  to his teacher and then as we were driving away he said to me, "Ms Kwisten makes me sooo happy!"  I about died laughing.

***I had to take Cody's bike into the bike shop to see if they could fix it since we couldn't get the chain to stay on so I asked Cade to go outside and tell Cody to come inside because we need to go to the bike shop and Cade ran outside and yelled, "Cody we need take you to the shot!!"  Cody is incredibly afraid of needles so you can imagine how well that went over!

***Cade comes in my bed because he can't sleep one night:
Cade: I need watch ONE Umizoomi.
Me: no buddy you need to go to sleep.
Cade: how 'bout George?
Me: no buddy. Close your eyes.
Cade: how 'bout... I need play your phone.
Me: no buddy. It's time to go to sleep.
Cade: how 'bout I go downstairs watch the tv.
Me: no son. Go to sleep.
Cade: how 'bout ONE Umizoomi?

Seriously. I don't know what to do with this kid some days.

***Halloween left quite an impression on Cade this year.  It has been about 3 weeks, the candy is long gone and he still randomly at night when its dark starts talking about going to the next house to get more candy, but he is adamant that he does not have to go to the scary house!  but reminds me that Cody went to the scary house all by himself.

***I love the way Cade says Cody's name right now.  He tries to say it too fast so it sounds like Coy or Co-wee.

***We have been attempting to potty train Cade for roughly 10 months.  We started at age 2 and he did really well for a 2 year old boy.  However, he wouldn't go poo in the potty so after getting tired of cleaning up the mess for about a week straight I went back to diapers for a month.  Then we tried again.  Still no poo in the potty.  Then we tried again.  You get the picture.  Here we are 10 months later and he still won't go poo in the potty.  He is fully "potty" trained but he will absolutely not go #2 in the toilet.  He will hold it all day until we put a diaper on his for bed or bring us a diaper and ask if we will put it on him so he can go "hide."  He is killing me.   Hopefully we get it resolved before baby #3 gets here.

***We read stories to the kids at night before they go to bed which had become something that they can't go to sleep without now.  It usually takes Cody a lot longer to get himself ready for bed than it does for me to get Cade ready so while we wait Cade likes to read to his animals in his room.  He sees me read to them with the book facing away from my body so that is how he reads books most of the time now.

***For Christmas the boys each got a little hexbug set.  Cody got one for Christmas last year but it was just the hexbug so we got them a little thing that the bugs play in.  Unfortunately, Cade was scared out of his mind and wouldn't go anywhere near the things.
After a couple days of trying to get him to touch them or even just be in the same room as them he finally touched one that wasn't vibrating and then a couple days later he picked one up when it was vibrating and he hasn't looked back.  They are still kind of creepy to him and he doesn't like to not know where they are at all times but he plays with them and kisses them and rubs them on his face because "it tickles."  Bad news is, the batteries are dead in all 3 already so we are waiting for our shipment of hexbug batteries now.

***Cade doesn't fully understand that there is a baby in my belly yet, but since we told him that there IS a baby in my tummy he will tell you there is baby in there if you ask him.  So the other day I asked him what was in my tummy and he said, "A baby."  I said, "What kind?"  He said, "A baby seester."  :)   I thought it was so cute so while we were at Marissa and Micah's house for Scarlett's birthday party the other night I asked him in front of everyone and after I said, "What kind?"  he replied, "A white baby!"  I wasn't expecting it, nor was anyone else but it made for a good laugh for sure.

*** Cody and Cade have started playing lots and lots of hide and seek games, the only problem is Cade isn't the best at hiding.  Cody will go hide and yell, "READY!" and then Cade goes to find him.  Once he has found him he goes to hide but because he is only 2 he just hides in the exact same place he just found Cody hiding.  It makes it pretty easy for Cody.  They have so much fun regardless and play every single day.   Cade has started to figure out that he can sort of smoke Cody out but saying, "Ready?"  a few times so that when Cody says, "Yes" Cade can find him easier.

After Christmas

After we opened gifts we just enjoyed our day at the house.
Cade went on a freezing cold 4 wheeler ride with Papa

he also brushed his teeth with his new tooth brush a lot that day (while wearing my mom's glasses)
The day after Christmas Chris had to go to work so my dad, Cody, Abby and I went to the outlets to exchange my boots and do some shopping (Cody picked out two outfits for baby girl) and then we went for a drive up the canyon to go on an impromptu sledding run.  Cody was wearing his boots, jeans and his coat but still went for it.

I love these 2 pictures.  All 5 neighbor boys got new beyblades for Christmas so they had a small tournament.

Flying the new remote control helicopter

Abby gave Cody gel pens for Christmas since he has been so into drawing lately and this was his first gel pen picture.  He was pretty proud of it.

this is where I keep finding Woody and Buzz, just dangling from the trash can

testing out his new scooter.  Since we have had so much snow he hasn't been able to ride it much yet.

2 Silly Boys

I love looking back through my phone at all the silly pictures I find.  The quality isn't great but it's great for spur of the moment things that I want to capture

Reading books in bed.  The top one is Cade reading to his monkey while we were waiting for Cody, then Cody came in and read his book to Cade and the monkey.

this is what happens when he plays in his room instead of actually taking a nap.  This was at 6pm while we were watching the Grinch Christmas movie.

Cody has had a loose tooth for a while now but I promised that we would wait and just let it fall out on it's own since he has had a couple tramatic tooth pulling incidents

And then, he did it! He pulled it out all by himself.  He was so proud of himself!
and then these last 3 pictures need no words.  Cade and I had a lot of fun one morning.

Christmas Morning

We had a wonderful Christmas this year.  It was a white Christmas even.  We had lots of company for Christmas this year.  My mom and dad, Melissa and Rob, Abby and Mikey.    The boys were super excited for Christmas, well mostly Cody but Cade played along.  Cody had pulled his tooth out on the 23rd but saved it to put it under his pillow the 24th so that we could the tooth fairy and Santa at our house on the same night.

Getting ready to head downstairs.
They did some wrestling while we were waiting for people in the basement to make their way upstairs

Santa brought Cody a motor scooter and Cade a new bike.  Both boys were thrilled!!!
Then we moved onto stockings.  They both got new toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, bubble bath and a coloring book.  Cody also got a can of cheese whiz, he said Santa must have seen me say no every time he asks if we can get some.   Cade got a couple little sets of "sharps" (tongs) to help Mom in the kitchen, or to pinch people with... it depends on his mood.

and then... Cody got to the bottom of his stocking where Santa had placed a CRYSTAL! That was on the top of Cody's list for Santa.  Santa picked out a big blue crystal.

Then, before thing got to chaotic with gift opening I had Cody and Cade open a gift together while Chris simultaneously opened one for him.
The boys opened a box with a pair of purple and tray Nike tennis shoes while Chris opened a picture frame with the profile and gender shot of our little GIRL that will be arriving in May.   No one knew that I had found out the gender the day before so it was my big surprise for everyone.
Next, it was Cody's turn to give a gift.  He had asked Chris to take him shopping to get something for me, which they did a few weeks ago and Cody had kept the gift hidden the entire time.  He was so excited for me to open it.  He had picked out a beautiful heart necklace for me.

and then we were onto opening gifts.  After Cade's first present it took while to get him to leave it alone and open another.

These were some rocks that Cody got from Henneman's.  He has spent a lot of time looking at all the different ones.  His favorite is the copper
still playing with the fire truck )first present)
clutching his new trains

Cody tried to give Cade a hug for getting him a new video game but the first time Cade shoved him away.  The second attempt was more successful.

We spent the whole day hanging out in jammies, playing with new toys and eating yummy food.  It was perfect.

Las Vegas for the BSU bowl game

Chris and I were able to sneak away for a couple days before Christmas to go to the BSU bowl game in Vegas again this year and I have been so excited, but mostly because I discovered a bakery in the lobby of the hotel we stay at that is INCREDIBLE!

I took my fancy camera with us so I could take some fun pictures but when I got home I realized that I took more pictures of the food I ate than the actual football game.  In my defense, the sun was in a terrible place for taking pictures at the game.

Friday night we walked down the strip to Treasure Island to eat at their seafood buffet and this was my first plate.  Not joking.
Then I had some crab legs and then my 3rd plate.  :)  it was a great dinner.

Saturday after the game we went to the Mandalay Bay buffet because I was up for more crab legs and this was what 2 of my plates looked like.  I hit a wall with crab though and I may not eat anymore for a while.
Then... on our last day I stopped at the bakert and purchased a small assortment of treats to take back home with us.  Oh. My. Gosh.  Do these not look too good to eat?!?

Oh, and some football pictures   haha
