Amanda: 25 years

On Friday I turned 25 years old! My golden birthday. 25 on the 25th. I didn't have very high expectations simply because I have two babies, so big extravagant birthdays aren't exactly an options right now. I was completely surprised at what a great birthday I had. I woke up to feed Cade at 7:30, Chris made me breakfast in bed. Yum! My parents were in town for the weekend for my cousin's sealing so my parents took the boys downstairs and I went back to sleep.

We had lunch at Tucanos with my free birthday meal. Cody was so funny! Toward the end of the meal one of the servers came by with the skewer of chicken hearts, Cody insisted he wanted some but since I am his Mom I decided he didn't want one. He wasn't happy with that. So, we brought the guy back and Cody was served chicken hearts. He ate 3 of them!

After lunch we came home for naps, and I made my birthday cake. My mom was going to make one but I asked if I could make it. Its kind of my new hobby, something I would like to be good at one day.
When Cody woke up from his nap he helped decorate the cake with sprinkles and candy letters he picked out at the store. He's a great speller :)

Then we hand dipped some cinnamon bears in chocolate.
And last on the agenda for the day... RODEO!!! I love going to the Rodeo. Chris, not so much but because it was my birthday he agreed to go. I got some amazing pictures at the rodeo. This first is my absolute favorite.

I took this picture to show how close we were to the cowboys. I bought our tickets the day of the rodeo but we ended up with the best tickets in the entire arena. Cody was 4 feet from this cowboy.

Cade clearly had a good time :)

Even though we got home around 11 we still had time for cake and ice cream.

and this must be how Cody felt about my birthday.
What a goofball
Thanks babe for such an amazing birthday. It was my best in a while. I love my family.

Strawberry Days Carnival

Last week we went down to the Strawberry Days carnival in Pleasant Grove. It was family night so all rides were $1. Cody went on this dragon roller coaster, the gravitron (spaceship looking thing that spins REALLY fast), the merry go round, and the jeeps. I went on the gravitron with him, it used to be my favorite ride and I figured I would be able to go once. Everything around me was spinning the rest of the night, but we had a blast. He loved it! He cracked me up on the jeep ride. Each of the kids had their own steering wheel to "drive" but Cody didn't take his role in the actually drivers seat lightly. He was so focused the entire time making sure he kept the jeep on the road. He is definitely a Henneman. :)

Random updates

I feel like a lazy blogger. I have started multiple posts and don't finish any of them. Funny things that happen that I want to remember, but I don't have time to blog them all. So I am going to try to do a little catch up.

The other night I had been up too many times with Cade when Cody woke up yelling something like, "No, STOP." I nudged Chris to go get him and went back to sleep. When Chris came back in the room he asked me if I had heard what Cody said. He said that when he went in his room Cody said, "tell Mom to stop poking me with the poking thing!"
I felt so bad. Not only does he already not want to hang out with me during the day, I am the monster in his nightmares. He told me the next day that I was poking the kitties with a poking thing. The next night as I was trying to get him to go to sleep I asked him if he would dream that I was a princess and he was spiderman... he closed his eyes right away and was off to dreamland.

We went down to this really neat little pool in Lindon the other day. It is kind of like a miniature water park. It has 1 bigger slide, 2 kiddie slides, a wave pool, a surfing pool thing, and a lap pool. We will definitely be going back. Cody was a fish. He is so comfortable in the water now. He did a running jump into the lazy river as soon as we got there (he wont go in unless he has his floaties or life jacket on). He went around 4 or 5 times before he finally got out and went to play in the kiddie area.

Cody has been enjoying Tball. They have had games every Tuesday and Thursday during the month of June. He is definitely getting the hang of it.

Cade is my little angel baby. Even after a sleepless night nothing warms my heart more than walking in to a big smile from my baby in the morning. I love how he knows who we are and reacts to Cody, Chris and I.

We have been so busy enjoying our summer. I don't want it to end. Ever. We have made some great friends here in Utah which helps a lot!

Cade: 4 months

I took Cade to the Dr today for his 4 month check-up. He had a rough weekend so I actually moved his appt to today instead of next week. He has a cold and possibly allergies. We wont know on the allergies until his cold is gone.

4 month stats:
height- 25 in. (75th percentile)
weight- 13 lbs 13 oz (30th percentile)

He is growing too fast. He has started laughing a little bit, usually only when you grab his hand and pretend he punched someone... such a boy. He enjoys his tummy time more now. He'll push himself up and then roll over. He discovered his tongue recently, and almost always has it hanging out of his mouth. He loves playing under his little play mat and watching the birdie sing to him. He smiles when he sees his big brother. He's a great little boy and we are so lucky to have him in our home.

Swimming at Stacy's

We have had a blast at Stacy's pool at her apartment complex. Cody has come so far in his journey to learn to swim, the first day at Stacy's pool I put his life jacket on him and threw him in the pool. It took him just a couple seconds to remember back to last Summer. He was a fish. The next day we went to his floaties... this time he said he would jump in on his own, just don't push him. :) He jumped right in. The 3rd day, we ditched the floaties and moved to his body board he got for his bday. He loved it, made him feel like a big boy. Next thing I knew he was doggie paddling from one end of the hot tub to the other. I love it! This first picture is my favorite from the day. He had been using his body board and realized he couldn't get out without letting go of the board, so this boy offered to help him.

This picture cracks me up... cannonball right into the middle of the hot tub.
I didn't stop him because it was all kids, had it been full of
adults I would have stepped in.

TEE BALL

I am SOOOO excited for tee ball season! Its a short fast one but I am going to love it!
I remember how much fun I had when I played as a kid.
He has picked up on it really fast actually. I am excited
to watch him over the coarse of the next month. They play every
Tuesday and Thursday in June.

Throwing the ball to first base.
(You can tell by the way his coach is pointing that is actually supposed to
be throwing the ball to home plate haha )

1st time up to bat
taking time for a picture at 1st base :)

2nd time up to bat

These are my favorite two pictures. The two boys in the back at standing at 3rd base, where Cody started. He was supposed to be running to home plate but decided to go back to 1st.

and here he is going back to home plate after he was
halfway to 1st base.

Many more pictures to come I am sure.

Memorial Day 2010

Rub a dub dub!

Cody LOVES when he gets to take a bath with Cade. His job is to keep warm water on Cade.
