Happy 6 years

On Saturday, Chris and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. We had a pretty relaxed day getting things done and then we had plans for Saturday evening. I picked the restaurant and took him to Golden Corral :) He loves it and I can handle it once every couple years. He was definitely surprised that that is where I chose and it worked out well since we were running a half hour late. No where else can you be in and out in 20 minutes. After we went down to Provo for the BYU Mens volleyball game. It was a really good game and fun to watch. We stopped at Walmart on the way home to get milk and Easter stuff and then called it a night. It was nice to spend some time together alone.

Just a little extra... at the game, Moses, from the biggest loser sat right behind us. Chris thought I was such a dork, so I waited til Chris went to the bathroom to ask him for a picture. He is from Shelly, Idaho but I found out he graduated from Nampa High School. Such a small world. It was pretty cool.

Easter 2011

Saturday morning we woke up, had breakfast and got dressed to take Cody to the local Easter egg hunt. Then, I checked the website again to make sure I had the right time, and I didn't. It was at 11, not 9:30. So, we lounged around for an extra hour and a half and then I took Cody down to the hunt. This was the first year that he really gathered some eggs. In years past he would find a piece of candy right out of the gate and then sit down and open it and by the time he was done all the eggs were gone. This year, he got 5 eggs! He was disappointed until I explained that all the other kids had to get eggs too. He figured since he saw hundreds of eggs before we started that he would get more than 5. He is the one wearing a blue hoodie and jeans.

Everywhere we go we see some sort of dead animal.
We had to get a picture with the Easter Bunny. We didn't bring Cade down on purpose. Going to Chuck E Cheese's was plenty traumatizing for that little boy.

Sunday morning, we over-slept. Usually Cody wakes me up at 7:15 every morning but Sunday, he slept til 8:50 when I woke up and sat up quickly. We had church at 9. We hurried and found Cody's Easter basket and the eggs that the Easter bunny had hidden.

and then it was off to church. Cody has been enjoying his candy way too much I think.

Helper

Cody is becoming more and more helpful and independent. I welcome the change. I think it is great that he wants to do things by himself. He can almost get a bowl of cereal all by himself. I just get nervous with the milk so I usually help with that unless there isn't very much left in the gallon.
The other day he asked if he could make his own sandwich so aside from cutting the pickles he did the whole thing by himself and was SO proud of himself.

Meanwhile.... Cade woke up from his nap and wasn't happy that he was being left out of the fun.

Playing at the Park

The weather has been teasing us lately. We get a few hours of sunshine and then rain clouds sneak in. We tried to take advantage of the sunshine the other day and headed to the park for a little bit. Cade HATES the swing. Cody loved it at this age so this is weird for me. He didn't mind the bucket-seat swing, but only for a couple minutes and Cody had to be in the swing next to him.

You cannot tell me that this looks comfortable. He didn't ever say it hurt and kept asking me to push him higher, so I did.

Soccer: Round 2

Last Spring, Cody played soccer. It didn't go as I had hoped it would. He had fun because he had friends on the team but didn't care at all about scoring a goal.
This year, is different. He is really having a good time. He is a better wing-man than anything else, but at least he is following the play of the ball this year.
He is a softy, so stealing the ball from any of the kids is a hard concept for him grasp, or pushing people around is not happening so when the ball comes to him he kicks it.

One of Cade's latest obsessions is pop. He thinks anything with a straw is going to be soda and he wants it!

Sunday: The drive home

Cody still wasn't feeling well on Sunday. He had a fever throughout the night but hadn't thrown up again. We kept him on tylenol throw the day but it didn't make him any more perky. He crashed as soon as we left Boise. Cade slept from Caldwell to Boise and then not again until we got home. Cody slept all the way to Burley.
Once Cody woke up he was still pretty somber the rest of the way and still went to bed at a pretty early hour that night. He had a fever until Monday night and then seemed to be fine.
We had a great time on our Spring Break trip to Idaho. We got to see a lot of friends and family and it was sad to say goodbye again. Hopefully we'll be back up a couple times this Summer though.

Saturday

Saturday was adventurous. We had big plans to go to 4 wheeling but after we stopped at our favorite little breakfast place, Cody started saying his tummy hurt and crying. It came out of no where. We stopped to put gas in all the 4 wheelers and grabbed Cody some tylenol hopping that would help. We pulled away from the gas station when he started drying harder saying his tummy hurt... we went back to the gas station to see if going to the bathroom would help his tummy and 3 second after I got him out of the truck he puked EVERYWHERE! Poor kid! We went home and let him take a nap. He woke up feeling better so he and my dad rode 4 wheelers in the back yard instead.
(Chris HATES these hats, but I think they are hilarious and Cody loves his.)

Cody doesn't weigh enough to drive the lawn mower by himself so my Dad had to walk behind him and hold down the seat.

Friday

Friday morning after breakfast the boys and I headed to Boise to pick Daddy up from the airport. He couldn't handle being away from us for any longer :)
The boys were both so excited to have Daddy with us. We were supposed to meet my parents for lunch and some games at Chuck E Cheese. Cody had a blast, but Cade HATED Chuck E.
He would watch Chuck E everywhere he went just to make sure he wasn't headed our direction.

Thursday.

Thursday we headed to Caldwell to spend the last couple days with my Mom and Dad. The boys were worn out from the last few days of playing. Cade sacked out in the car before we left the drive way and Cody was in and out the whole way. We headed to visit some friends in New Plymouth for a couple hours first and then went back to my parents house.

We had planned a fun cousin's dinner for Thursday night, Megan and Trisha brought their kids over and we had a yummy dinner and the kids played outside in the sandbox

I think you could say the kids had a good time. It's crazy to think that that was once me in the picture below with my cousins.

Fun at Grandma and Grandpa Henneman's

Playing with toys....
reading books....

flying kites...
playing on the playground....

Finding dead frogs...
making drawings of Cody....
and more pictures taken by Cody.
We had so much fun. It was nice to be able to spend a few days at Grandma and Grandpa Henneman's.
