Cant Sleep...

Ok, it is 11:39 and I am so anxious I can't sleep. I am leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow at 4 and I am SO excited! I am going with my friend that I met when she hired me to coach the sophomore volleyball team at Vallivue High School 2 years ago. She is 6'4" and single so if anyone knows any available good men, she is looking! We have so much fun together, last summer we took the volleyball team to Utah for a team camp and to Lagoon on Saturday after.... and now we play doubles volleyball once a week. We played in one tournament last summer at Julia Davis Park in Boise and took 3rd (placing behind 1 team of 2 girls from Boise State and 1 team of 2 girls from Albertsons College, not bad.) We are so excited to play more this summer and already have one tournament lined up in May. I will hopefully be the assistant Varsity coach this next year instead of J.V. I COULDN'T STAND THE PARENTS!!! urg! Anyway, we are staying at the Riviera in Vegas because we are attending a coaches convention there. The school paid for her plane ticket and hotel room so we just had to cover my trip. :) We are hopefully going to go to Phantom, and possibly the Riviera Comedy Club but one thing is for sure we are going to eat so GOOD food! I am within 2 lbs of my pre-baby weight so it is time to treat myself. right?

On another note, I went to a Church activity tonight that I really enjoyed. Let me preface this a little bit, Chris and I attend the spanish branch in Caldwell so everyone speaks spanish. I DONT. I teach sunday school to about 20 kids between the ages of 12-17 every sunday and then I am in the Young Womens presidency. So needless to say it keeps me busy. (all of the kids speak english) So tonight what a Stake Relief Society Night. YAY ENGLISH! I was excited to go simply to listen to a talk in English but also to see people I hadn't seen in a while. I really enjoyed one of the talks in particular. She was talking about how just as it is important to have a home frames correctly and be strong, it is important to have a strong frame in our lives. She was the most hilarious speaker I have ever heard and she wasn't trying to be funny. She was completely serious as she told stories of things that have gone wrong at different points in her life and couldn't figure our why everyone was laughing. I guess it was just hilarious the way she told the stories and the stories really had ZERO revelance to the topic. But I have to say that at the end of the talk all I could think was, "I want to be her friend" she seemed so fun.

I am sorry this is all so random but like I said I can't sleep. Which is actually very unusual, Chris gives me a hard time because lately I can't seem to get out of bed before 8 a.m.! I thought there was something wrong with me, seriously! I even thought I was pregnant even though other things proved otherwise. It wasn't until my mother-in-law asked me how we like our new mattress that I realized it wasn't me. They bought the same mattress and my brother-in-law has one too. My response to her question was "well I cant seem to get out of bed before 9, (kind of kidding) " and she said she had the same problem. So apparently I just have a SUPER comfortable mattress and that is why I love sleeping lately. Chris and I used to fall asleep watching t.v. or watching a movie on the couch but now I just go get in bed because I just love it!

I am going to start a new book tomorrow and I am quite excited about it. I bought it at Costco recently.

Now it is 12:10 a.m. and I am ready to go get in bed. I have SO MUCH to do tomorrow still. did I mention that I am REALLY excited. I want to see a celebrity. believe it or not I am have never even seen a famous person, that is not a church apostle :)

Officially Addicted

I am actually really excited to finally be able to watch American Idol. I have never been able to get into any of the seasons simply because my schedule does not allow for me to be home Tue, Wed and Thur from 7-9. I cant imagine any ones does. Any way now that we have our DVR reciever I get to record them and watch them whenever I want! That being said, my favorite this year is Jason Castro... I love his voice but I dont think he will win.
I think Ramiele will win... wow what a voice.
AND we are anxiously awaiting the return of The Office!! I am getting tired of watching the same ones OVER AND OVER!

Happy Really Late Valentines Day

I know this is really late but we have been so busy. Valentines week at The Mona Lisa is the busiest week of the year so I worked Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. And I had a Real Estate deal that I had to have done by Friday needless to say it was a stressful week. Chris and I had decided we would wait and go out for Valentines Day today. So we are going to Chris's favorite restaurant Red Lobster. We go for the biscuits and the crab legs.

Chris also got me a digital picture frame. I love it! I didn't realize how many photos those thing hold. I just haven't had time to sit down and load all my pictures on it. Friday night I started feeling a little under the weather and by Saturday I was losing my voice and by Sunday I was really not feeling well so Chris got to play mommy all day Sunday and Monday until he started pumping drugs into me to help me feel better. I forgot to take pictures at Red Lobster :) but I got some at the mall after dinner. Hope everyone else had a nice Valentines Day with their honeys.

Digital Camera Help

We bought this camera back in December. I was so excited because it has a rechargeable battery so I dont have to replace my AA's every 5 days! I cant believe how fast my camera could drain my batteries. When we started charging the battery for the first time it would only charge for about 2 minutes and then stop. We took it back and exchanged it and the new one worked great until..... all the sudden it wouldn't read my memory card. I tried 3 different memory cards and none of then could be read my the camera. It kept saying "memory card error" URG! I tried to take it back to walmart but by now my 30 days were up. ( I honestly thought they had a 90 day return policy, apparently walmart is only 30 on cameras) So I took it to a different Walmart and they exchanged it no problem. Problem. The new one wouldn't read my card either. The photo center people tried their memory cards and it kept doing the same thing! SO FRUSTRATING! Finally, one of the ladies asked if I had formatted my memory card. I of course said no, because A. I didn't know I HAD to do that B. I didn't know HOW to do that. After reading the instruction book we figured out how to format my memory card. Problem Solved! YAY. I thought I would share my struggles in hopes that it will help anyone who reads this down the road.

WOP!!!!

The other morning I was getting Cody dressed and he yelled "WOP" really loud. I had no idea what that meant so I said, "What did you say?" he ran to the fish tank, pointed at our Albino Frog and said WOP!!! (pronounced exactly as it is spelled. ) That is his attempt to say frog! He can repeat a lot of things we tell him, but for some reason his translation of Frog was WOP. Now he says it more like "fwop". So everytime he goes to him room he runs to his fish tank to find the WOP! This is very close to what ours looks like.

On a lighter note....

After the missionaries left, my friend Kristen came over to make sugar cookies. I realize "sugar cookie season" is over but she had a craving and I am ALWAYS game for a good sugar cookie, so she brought her recipe and I provided the ingredients and the oven. While we were frosting our cookies, Cody had a spatula that Kristen would put frosting on so he could eat some... or so we thought. I had no idea she was doing it. All the sudden she just started laughing histarically... this is why.

It was so cute and funny we made sure we got a good laugh out of it, but being good parents we made sure he cleaned up his own mess.

GROSS!

Church was cancelled today due to bad roads. There has been SO much snow here, I have never had church cancelled because of snow. It was weird to have that extra 4 hours or so in the day. We were scheduled to have the missionaries over for dinner and the roads had cleared up a little so they were still able to come. I made my mother-in-laws Creamy Italian Chicken (here is the recipe) It was a HUGE hit, I have never seen two boys shovel food in their mouths so fast. Good for my cooking confidence! After we finished eating we sat at the table and talked about stuff that has been going on in the branch (we go to the spanish branch, Chris is Young Mens president and I am the Sunday School teacher for 12-18 year olds and Young Womens 2nd counselor). Cody had been down running around for a few minutes when he came walking up to the table without a diaper on. One of the missionaries spotted him first so Chris got up to go get a diaper on him and realized Cody had just POOPED!!! Yes, thats right. On the hardwood right next to the dinner table! EWWWW. Chris ran him to the bathtub while I got right to work cleaning it up so the missionaries didn't lose their dinner! After all, I had worked really hard on it :) I the heat of the moment I made the decision not to take any pictures of the incident simply because I knew if I wouldn't want to look at pictures of that later, no one else would either. The joys of Motherhood! Gotta Love It.

Playin' in the snow!

We have been stuck inside for way too long. Cody starts getting antsy and so do I. He and I both have had a little bit of a cold so we haven't been able to even play in the snow, and we didn't have a snow suit for Cody. Thanks to Alexis, who let us borrow her son Gavin's snow suit we were able to go play! I attached a slideshow with all the fun pictures. He seemed to really like the "taste" of snow.

on a different note, and completely not related to the snow. I bought Cody a little potty when he was like 16 months old... I will sit him on it occasionally to see how he does. He has gone in his potty a couple of times but only if we are lucky. Recently however her has started coming up to Chris and I and saying "I poo, I poo" hahaha how cute! We went to the mall last night and while I was in one of the stores Chris said he went up to a random man and said "I poo". so I guess we are making progress. He tells us everytime he has gone poo or pee now we just need to get him to tell us before he goes... wish us luck!
