Halloween Fun

I was line judging a College of Idaho volleyball game tonight so we took Cody to a church trunk-or-treat where he discovered fellow Spidermen... and got some GREAT candy.
(he is the one on the left)
Then it was off to hand out candy at my parents house. Last year he was at Chris's parents house.
then I found Spidey sneaking off for a late night snack...

Sneek Preview!

Its not a good picture but it will work for now. I wasn't sure what I was going to dress Cody up as... maybe Dwight from The Office since he was Michael Scott last year, then we thought about a vampire, but when he started jumping off of things with a shirt over his head saying, "Look, I'm SPIDERMAN!" we decided that spiderman was a better fit. This was on Monday... so all the little kid spiderman costumes were gone so my mom got a size 4-6 one and we cut it down to fit Cody. It is PERFECT! I am so proud of our work! and he REFUSES to take it off.

I Quit!

I taught 7th grade math Tuesday and Wednesday and even though I really do enjoy that age group... there are a few things I could do without...
Tuesday... some stupid girl asked me if I am pregnant, and when I VERY CALMLY replied, "No, I am not pregnant." she looked at me and said," oh... it looks like it"
I almost hit her!!!!
Wednesday... same class a different boy looked at me and said... "Mrs. Henneman, have you ever worked at Hooters?" !!!!????!!!!!????? WHAT!? Again, I very calmly but oh so STERNLY replied with, "Miguel, you NEVER ask a woman something like that. That was very inappropriate."
A couple minutes later he raised his hand and said, "Miss... I'm really sorry."
I had already forgotten, so I asked what for and he said, "Uh, you know...."
I told him that I apreciated his apology and I could tell he felt horrible about the whole thing.
The Hooters one wasn't as painful as the are you pregnant question. I know I dont look pregnant but still... it was a 7th grader!

Utah Trip

Our trip to Utah for Chris's grandma's 90th birthday celebration was so fun. Chris had been in Salt Lake for 9 days before Cody and I headed down there. We were supposed to fly out Wednesday at 4:30p.m. but that morning I started wondering if I needed a ticket for Cody. I couldn't remember if it was 2 and under or under 2 that flew for free. Sure enough, it was under 2... AHHH so it was going to cost me another $140 to fly Cody down on Southwest. My mom and my aunt arranged for us to fly on Delta buddy passes so it cost about $80 for both of us. The problem was, I needed to be on the 1:05 p.m. flight.... and it was 11 when my mom called me and I had JUST gotten out of the shower. Fortunately I had been packing and straightening up all morning, but when it came down to the crunch we couldn't find one of Cody's dress shoes and looked too long... we missed the flight. So we would have to wait and hopefully catch the 3 p.m. flight which was a long shot or catch the 5:30 flight with was a sure deal. We got the LAST 2 seats on the 3 o clock flight. phew.... cause this is what I did in the airport for 2 hours....and hide and seek Cody's first plane ride where he actually knew what was going on was a blast! He kept opening and closing the window, and protecting his eyes from the sun.

He really enjoyed the peanuts and apple juice... I was ready to throw up by this point (ever since I got pregnant with him I struggle on airplanes.)
He wanted to ride the walking escalator but he refused to take a step once we were on it.

Chris picked us up from the airport and we went to dinner, met up with an old friend and her 5 kids and then headed down to Mona, Utah to hang out with these guys... Chris worked for their dad when we were living in Utah. They are practically family now. We stayed with them Wednesday and Thursday night. The boys had a BLAST and I REALLY enjoyed the free babysitters...

Friday afternoon we headed up to Salt Lake to meet back up with Chris and go to the hotel where the rest of the Henneman family was staying for the weekend. Chris's Aunt and Uncle hosted birthday party so we were all in the same hotel. Friday they had a dinner for us at the hotel and we watched old home movies.
Here is a good picture of Cody's eye the night he ran into a table.
Saturday morning the adults went to the temple and the kids and their parents went to the zoo. (this was when we took our family pictures)
That afternoon before the party Cody got to spend some time in the swimming pool with Kimball, Paul, Ron, Mick and Luke. He was in HEAVEN!

The party that evening was so glamorous. It was so fun to get all dressed up. I was nervous about Cody being good but he did okay as long as he was with either his Aunt Missy or his Papa Steveo and Grandma Lori. The only time he came to sit with us was when he wanted the rest of Chris's salad. (Chris is still in shock that HIS son eats SALAD! thats what happens when he is with me all day, he eats what I eat). He also thoroughly enjoyed the Martinelli's.

Sunday morning we had breakfast again downstairs and then headed to Grandma and Grandpa Henneman's sacrament meeting, then to their house to say good-bye.

And this is how we all felt come Sunday afternoon. Pooped out! Thanks Hazy's for such a fantastic weekend and thanks family. We had so much fun seeing all of you again!

My Favorites

Here are my favorites from the pictures we had taken in Utah. Please note that we are still working on teaching Cody how to smile... its a work in progress.

and to explain the big red mark on Cody's cheek in all the pictures... he got his clumsiness from me! He was running from smeone and ran into a table! It turned a nice green color the day after we took these. But I think every boy should have a nice shiner in at least one set of family pictures :)

(I love this next one simply because of the way my eyes look... two of my sisters have the most gorgeous blue eyes and I have DARK brown... only recently have they lightened up a little bit and I love the almost honey color of them here. I dont have one pictures until now where you can actually see anything except a big brown blob in my eye. Thanks Nicole!)

Sleep talking

First of all... Yes Cody sleeps with us. He didn't sleep with us EVER during his first 18 months and then there was a couple months where he kept waking up at 3:30 every morning and Chris and I were too tired to actually do much about it so we just threw him in our bed... and now we are stuck with him. its really not that bad though... I am sure it will be when we have another baby... but that is a good year away. Anyway... on to my story, the other night I crawled in bed after getting home late from a volleyball match when Cody rolled over mumbling something...

I asked him what he said and

he replied, "Oh no."

I said, "what happened Cody?"

he said, "Oh no, I spilled da juice."

I laughed and said, "why did you spill the juice?"

he giggled and said,"No, I got it."

he rolled over and didn't make another sound......... until 5 a.m. when he WET THE BED?!?!?!

I was shocked... we have been 2 weeks without a diaper at night and he wet the bed!?!?!? the best part was it was all over Chris's pillow :) Sorry babe. So, he has regressed slightly, but I am not totally surprised since he potty trained so early.

And one other thing... he told me to Shut up for the first time on Sunday! MY baby told ME to Shut Up! I swear if Chris could have reached him in the car he would have popped him... :) He has since said it 4 or 5 times but definitely knows that it is a bad word so he will sometimes whisper it. I am sure it is the first of many more to come!

Ready... Set... Pop

UPDATE: Suzi is being induced Wednesday morning.
And the race is on.... ok not really a race but I'm counting down the days until we have another baby Cody. Suzi Hammond, who is married to my brothers best friend is due the end of October. (and she is naming her baby Cody too) but I think it will be less than a week from now. at Suzi's baby shower last night. I don't know how she
manages to still get her hair done and make-up on...
I had completely given up by this point.

Gearing up for Halloween

Okay so he isn't actually going to be a mouse, but it made for a lot of laughs last night.

Our remote disappeared... seriously... vanished... no where to be found. I am so used to watching my shows without commercials that I really can't stand to watch anything right now. And getting up to change the channel... ya right. I guess I will just call it a night.

Why I Love My Son...

I was pretending to be sad about something so he tried to comfort me by saying,
"Its okay Mommy, you're my girlfriend."

my baby boy

I came home from officiating a jr high volleyball tournament today and found Cody like this... I asked Chris what happened and he told me that he had given Cody a haircut and then a shower. Cody threw a fit the whole time so Chris sent him to his room straight out of the shower. and this is how he found him. too cute

Leaving the mall today, I saw a lady sitting on the sidewalk with this shirt on and a clearly visible baby bump....
