Ready for school!

Ok, maybe he isn't quite ready for school but he sure looks like he is. (and some days I think I am ready for him to be in school. ) Just a couple more years! I am working on a list of all the words he says:
binky, sippie, diaper, mom , dad, juice, shoes, coat, hat, hot, cold, brrrr, warm, tractor, bye bye, hello, where it go?, no, car, papa, nana, stace, snow, baby, red, orange, purple, blue, green, yellow, cookies, chips, cereal, food, fish, horse, nose, eyes, hurt, the ball, right there, please, thank you, book, up, two...
now not all of the words sound exactly like they should but I can understand him. Our favorites are, please and thank you, horse, and food. When he first started saying food it was doof... I think he says "the ball" at least 50 times a day. Slightly obsessed. He counts but we have to say one and he says two, TWO!!!! (it is starting to sound more like three).

It has been snowing all day today and I think we have at least 6 inches. It has been a long time since we hace had this much consistent snow in Idaho. So we are snowed in.... literally. My car is two low, I would get stuck. We are waiting for Chris to get home so we can go grocery shopping!

Bittersweet...

What an amazing man! When I first heard of his passing I was sad, but immediately my thoughts went to his sweet wife and what an amazing reunion that had to have been. They were such a great couple. Wouldn't it have been great to have seen that. He is the only prophet I remember so it will be different to have a new prophet but I am so excited to see who Heavenly Father chooses to be our new leader.

Love me some swiffer....

When we moved into our home in October, I knew I would have my work cut out for myself with cleaning... we have a lot of hardwood and it is walnut at that so you can see EVERYTHING and with new carpet there are A LOT of dust bunnies! When our hardwood guys came out to put the final seal coat on our floor they told us that a mixture of vinegar and water works great on hardwood. We decided to give it a try because we were out of swiffer juice and it is expensive. I was so disappointed with the vinegar mixture, it left terrible streaks. We went and bought more swiffer wet jet bottles and had to use it very liberally to get rid of all the streaking! So just a little shout out to swiffer... cant live without it. (love their dusters too)

Play time!

I have recently started attending some water aerobics classes down at our YMCA with a friend and I love it! I had no idea how much of a work out that can be. So I convinced Chris to bring Cody down last night so we could play. He is used to hot tubs and bath tubs so luke warm water was not his favorite but he warmed up to it eventually. I love the slide picture because he shows absolutely no emotion coming down the slide. If you click on the picture you can see a zoomed in view.
Cody's first bloody nose was not what I expected. I imagined him crying histerically because he saw blood. Nope! He didn't even know he had a bloody nose. He was jumping around the house, almost like he was doing jumping jacks and when I looked up I saw blood all over his arm and face. No tears.
And these I LOVE!
I was fixing a hole in Chris's camo pants when Cody crawled up on the couch next to me. He watched t.v. for a couple minutes and crashed on my shoulder. These are the moments that make everything worth it!

Accent Furniture

We moved into our home the first weekend of October. I am still working on decorating and I am sure I will be for a while. Back in June, I had my purse stolen from the parking lot of our local YMCA two days after my birthday. Inside my wallet were gift cards given to us by family for Christmas and birthdays that Chris and I had been saving for about 2 years because that is how long we had been planning on building a house, it just took A LOT longer than we intended to find a place to build. So when we moved in I wasn't as excited to decorate because all my gift cards were gone. (the girl that stole my purse has since been caught... long story, I am sure I will post more about it later. Her sentencing hearing is Feb. 4th.) So while I am waiting to see what kind of restitution I will get, I am dreaming of what I will buy with the restitution money. These are 3 benches I really like from Target (love their stuff) They are all very different and I am looking for opinions. My house has a spanish type theme... just a lot of browns and blacks and beige. I also attached a picture of where I will be putting the bench. It is in my master bedroom closet under the windows.

Let me know which one is your favorite!

More cute Cody pictures....

At my office meeting this morning, Cody decided to play hide-and-seek. It took me a while to find him, but I should have known he would be by the sugar!

haha these crack me up! We went to the drive thru car
wash the other day:

The Mona Lisa... again

We took Chris's processor (kind of like an assistant) and her husband to dinner last night. I was a late Christmas gift. We went to Mona Lisa... even though I work there I will NEVER get tired of fondue! I have to say though, if I had to pick between cheese fondue and chocolate fondue... I would pick cheese fondue. I never thought I would say that. We sat in my favorite room in the restaurant so I couldn't resist taking some pictures.

3 binkies!

Some people may call us bad parents but Chris and I think we are hilarious. With all the new things Cody is figuring out, we manage to have A LOT of fun with it! My parents have pics of me as a little girl with multiple binkies in my mouth.

Showing us his teeth: (its the only way we can get him to "smile" for pictures)

Sometimes we have to give Cody cookies to hold him over while we are trying to get stuff done, this time is was an M&M cookie and he has figured out that he can eat the M&M's and throw the rest of the cookie away:

Grandma Scott's bday dinner at Jakers... delicious!
We have amazing families!

It amazes me the new things Cody learns everyday. At least one new word, and a little more attitude shines through. His most recent talent is feeding himself... with a spoon! He absloutely refuses to eat ANYTHING if I try to feed it to him with a spoon, but if I give him the spoon he eats everything in front of him and today at lunch he ate with a fork... successfully. I was impressed.

And even though I am his mommy I can still say that he has the cutest little bum I have ever seen in a pair of Levis!

Snow Days

I love snow days because I get to stay home and play with Cody all day! He is so funny, and he knows it!

The Fedex guy delivered a package at noon and that was the first time I had really looked out side, he had to jump over a little mound of snow to get to our door because of the way the wind is blowing. Now Cody and I are waiting for Daddy to get home so we can go make our first snowman! YAY

Shrimp Cocktails

Ok, first of all I don't even like shrimp cocktails. I don't like cocktail sauce and I don't like shrimp unless it is grilled so.... when my grandpa came over with his shrimp and cocktail sauce and asked if I had a plate to put them on, of course I had one :) I was so excited, I have 12 martini glasses in my china hutch only because I think they look really cool, and I was thrilled I was going to be able to use one! So here is how it turned out. He had two different kinds of cocktail sauce (hot and hot hot) so he wouldn't let me put any in the bottom of the glass

Family Dinners...

I love family get togethers especially when there is food involved :) Cody has 4 cousins and 1 on the way on my side of the family that live around here and I love it when they can get together. Here he is with Ryan and his baby brother Luke, and Lydia who is only 4 days younger than Cody.

Holiday Break

Looking in the neighbors fence for Prince, their dog.... its one of his favorite things to do.

We had a great Holiday Break. Chris had a lot of time off to stay home and play. We didn't do anything special for New Years Eve ( I worked) and Chris and Cody went to McDonalds.... sounds delicious right? :) Cody has slowly been adjusting to his new toys from Christmas. He is not so attached to his power drill, and he is slightly less scared of the remote control H3 he got. He has to be a certain distance from the truck before he will use the remote for it. He either hides behind the stair rails on at least the 2nd stair or he is on the couch where it cant reach him. We have determined that he looks like both of his Grandpa's, but he has the Hayes tongue... and the second picture is what happens when it is time to put the remote control car back in his garage (the closet under the stairs)

We went to Hayden Frew's 1st birthday party on the 27th and there were about 15 other boys there, Cody was in Heaven! The 3 youngest and one little girl all fought over this car most of the time.
