Madison Trip: Flying Kites

While Melissa and Rob we're up at the cabin the did a fun game night for the kids where they played Bingo for prizes that Melissa had brought up for the kids. One of the prizes was a kite for each kid. They had a blast flying them. We were able to get them up high 3-4 different times.

Madison Trip: The Chugga

I only planned a few things while we were on vacation and one was that I wanted to take Cade on the train in Virginia City. After we spent a morning in Ennis doing some shopping and eating lunch we drove 10 more miles to catch the little train. I wanted to take Cade because he LOVES trains and this train is the coolest oldest train I've ever been on. He loved it. He kept asking if we were going back to "the chugga" which I finally figured out meant train, like the chugga chugga choo choo. :)

Madison Trip: Cousin Pictures

While Cody was fishing Cade and Callie spent a lot of time hanging out together.

Cody Fishing the Madison River

On our trip this year, my baby turned into a big boy. I don't know how that happened, or when but I am struggling with it a little. Chris found copy a pair of waders online so he was able to go fishing with the big boys a lot this trip. Most of the pictures came from my dads phone since I wasn't invited on the fishing days ;)
He went fishing 6 times, I think. They fished til 11:00 one night and then got up at 6:30 the next day to fish all day and 5:30 the morning after that. He loved every minute of it. We saw them at a fly shop one day so we stopped and when I asked Cody if he wanted to ride back to the cabin with us he initially said yes and then said, "wait, what are you guys doing Dad?"  He didn't want to miss any fishing.

Madison Trip: Buckaroo Bills

On Friday night Chris asked if I wanted to take the boys into West Yellowstone for dinner since it was our last night of our trip. We didn't really have a specific place in mind but as we pulled into town we saw a BBQ place we had eaten at last year. After we had found a parking spot and started to walk we saw a different BBQ place and decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did. Not only was the food yummy but the atmosphere was so fun. Each booth was made into a covered wagon with paintings on the wall and in the center of the room was a fake fire with a small buffalo and coyote. We all loved it.

Madison Trip: Sam and Gina

Friday evening Sam and Gina Owens came over to our cabin with their 3 kids. It was fun to get to catch up and see how much the kids have grown.

Madison Trip: Steph and the kids

I was so happy when Steph told me she would come up to the cabin with her 3 kids for a night. I hadn't seen her in a year and both of us had babies in the year. I got to meet little Brody and spend some fun time with the twins, Kenzie and Riley.
The pictures are a little out of order but Thursday night we took the kids to the swimming pool at the club house and then Friday morning after breakfast we took the kids to campfire lodge to hike out to a little cabin we have hiked to for years. Unfortunately, the cabin had collapsed since we were there last. Pretty sad. So instead we took the kids to a little spot along the river to let them catch minnows and wade in the water.  I loved seeing them and wish we got to see them more often.
