Zoo fun

My birthday was Thursday of last week. I turned the big 24! and I had the best birthday ever! Cody and I got to go to the Zoo in Boise with some of our friends! Dylan, Cody and Hayden had a blast together looking at all the animals!

The Lion was actually up and walking around. The boys would scream like little girls everytime the lion walked by them

This picture sums up our whole day at the park!
This of course is Melman, from Madagascar

These were the penguins...
and riding the fake penguins.
All 3 of the boys
After the zoo we went with The Frew's to Roaring Srpings to let the boys cool off a bit. We only stayed for an hour and a half or so. Just enough time to get.... cold apparently??
And here is Cody driving my car. He tells me he needs to go to work, and that he'll be right back!
and this was Saturday night, at about 11 p.m. with Aunt Abby

I need a snap.

No, not a nap like the above picture would suggest. This was taken on the way home from the water park today. Cody LOVES getting a stamp on his hand when we go, but today he didn't get one. Instead when we were walking back out to the car he tripped and got black on his knees. He stood up and said, "look mom, I got a snap (stamp) on my knee!!" when he realized there was one on the other knee he was twice as excited!

Alfredo Sauce Recipe

I made this alfredo sauce to dinner last week and we LOVED it! My dad used to make alfredo for us from scratch and when I went to college I tried to make in numerous times and it never worked... his directions went something like this.

start with some milk, add some flour til its thick enough, add a little garlic, add some more milk... you get the idea. It never turned out.

I found this recipe at allrecipes.com It is for 8 servings.

1 cup butter
1-1/2 cups cream cheese
1-1/2 cups half-and-half
2 pinches garlic salt, or to taste
lemon pepper to taste
2 (16 ounce) packages dry fettuccine pasta

Place pasta in a large pot of lightly salted boiling water. Cook until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain.
Combine the butter, cream cheese, and half and half in a saucepan. Season with garlic salt and lemon pepper. Bring to a low boil over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring, until thickened slightly.

I made it exactly as the recipe said and then added some parmesan cheese at the end because I didn't like the over powering cream cheese taste. After I added about 3/4 cup parm cheese it tasted GREAT.

When I served it however I wished I had added more half and half. Mine was WAY too thick and rich. I had a lot of left overs so every time I warmed some up I put a little half and half in the pot and then the left over sauce to thin it out.

I am so excited to have found a good easy recipe for alfredo sauce, and the best part was that it kept in the fridge so well!! And it didn't seperate at all when reheated!

Let me know what you think if you try it!
Okay so really if there was no Roaring Springs I would probably be in a nut house by now. SERIOUSLY the best $100 ever spent!!! We were there for 6 1/2 hours yesterday!!

This picture was taken on the way to the water park...
This was about 5 hours into it.and this is just a random one of Cody playing on our neighbors tramopoline with their dog Prince.

Uncle Cody

I have been thinking about this kid a lot lately. I miss him. A LOT. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that we are rapidly approaching the 7 year mark since he died. Reality is setting in... I think I have been living in a small state of denial for the last 7 years... he's really gone.

I have a lot of great memories of us growing up through high school but it is so hard to think that there are no more memories to be made.
This first picture is my all time favorite picture of us. It is how I picture our reunion when I get to see him again... minus the basketball uniform and lettermans jacket.

The Bump It

I have seen the infomercial and thought it was cool... then I saw this little guy at Walgreens for $10 for a set of 3 and HAD TO HAVE IT!!!
The Bump It! I LOVE the way it works in my hair.
both pictures were taken in my car :) Don't ask me why.

Eagle Fun Days

We were invited to go to the Eagle fun days wet n wild parade with Cody's friend Hayden! We jumped at the opportunity. I had never been before and forgot that the kids can bring water guns... Cody had fun none the less.

You're my....

Cody plays a game with Chris and I where he tells one of us that we are his "favorite boogie". It started because that is what Chris calls Cody. "boogie" So, now Cody says I am his girlfriend, or favorite boogie or most recently he has been calling me his Mudder (mother) or sister. :) So tonight we were goofing around this was how the conversation went tonight:

Me: "You're my baby!"
Cody: "No, You're my Mommy!!!"

Me: "You're my boyfriend!"
Cody: "You're my girlfriend!!"

Me: "No, my name is Cinderella!"
Cody: "You're Cinderella??"

Me: "Yes, and you're Prince Charming!"
Cody: "No, I'm just Prince."

Me: "I'm Snow White."
Cody: "No, you're my SNOW PINK!"

I laughed forever!! How clever!

Utah...

If I don't do this now, it won't get done.

Utah-June 2009
We left at 5 am Tuesday morning and got to Provo around 11. Chris went right to work and Cody and I headed on our way to do our own thing. We met my friend Kristen for lunch and shopping and then headed down to Mona, Utah for the evening. Cody played, played and then played some more with the boys while I talked to Aurelie and Sabrina. We headed back up around 7:30.
Wednesday Chris went in to the office again (okay that was everyday) and Cody and I hung around Chip and Chan's house for a couple hours and then decided to go visit Suzi and Cody Hammond up in Midvale. We swam for a few minutes at their community pool and then went to IKEA to look around. I had never been there, I was SO overwhelmed. Next time we are down there I will definitely be checking Cody into the daycare so I can explore some more. I got Cody some plastic dishes so we have more than one plate and one bowl for him.
Thursday... you guessed it, Chris went to the office and Cody and I hung out with Sage's at the car lot for a few hours. They were having a big sale and had the food trailer out there. I brought Sabrina, Brennan and McKade back to the house while I gave Cody a nap and we all watched part of The Dark Knight and then we went back to the dealership.
Friday... again Chris headed to the office and Cody and I went back to the dealership- this day they had a blow up bouncer for the kids to play in. We were only there about and hour when Chris called and said he wanted to hang out with us so we went and picked him up and grabbed lunch and went to the mall. Friday night we had a BBQ at Chips house.
Saturday morning we were up and out by 9:30. I had to be to work at 6.
Here are the only pictures I took...

such is life

Two years ago this on the 27th of this month, my purse was stolen from my car at the local YMCA... she was caught and is supposed to pay me like $1400 in restitution. I got a check for $75 one year later and haven't seen a dime since. I was looking up registered sex offenders in my area today and decided to take a look at the jail roster... GUESS WHO IS THERE??

Go have a looksie for yourself.

she is in for probation violation- AKA SHE DIDNT GO TO DRUG COURT which she was required to do instead of staying in jail.

Maybe I will bake her some cookies and go visit her.

Cody just came to me and said,

"Mommy, I'm hungry. I want paquitos (taquitos) , pizza and pancakes."

His Daddy would be so proud.

odd

I am here. We just got back from a week in Utah. Before I update with pictures and stories from our trip I have to share something odd.

Over the last week I have had a lot of people that I have run in to ask me how I am doing... pretty standard right? "Hey, how are you?" Well, when I say I am good thanks, a lot of people have said something a long the lines of, "Really? you sure?" or "No really, how are you doing?"

Maybe I wear my stress ALL over my face!?!
